Dinner in Durban

We said farewell to Cape Town with vows to return to see Table Mountain up close and personal. Unfortunately the weather did not permit that visit on this trip.
Our flight to Durban was uneventful (thankfully) and we even arrived early. The plane took off once everyone was on board ten minutes early. It illustrated the importance of being at the gate at borading time. Costa and Jenny were at the new airport to greet us. The new airport was built for the World Cup although it had been under discussion for some years. I was amazed by the difference although I did like the old airport.
Once in Durban and in our rooms we went grocery shopping at Woolworth's and Pick n Pay. More of an expedition will occur tomorrow. This was just for breakfast food.
Tonight Costa and Jenny invited us to dinner. Ingrid, an MD from MGH, and Laura a psychologist from Children's were also guests. I was delighted to see Ingrid again and to meet Laura. It was a lovely dinner- fine food and interesting conversation. It's obviously great to see Jenny and Costa again- they who play host to a range of academics from various continents, many of whom are medical personnel involved with AIDS.
N.B. The long promised pictures will appear. We expect to have some time for catching up tomorrow after our visit to the University of KwaZulu Natal.
